National Geographic has always been one of those "quality first" and "do the right thing" kind of companies. It's baked into the values and the company lives them. It's great to see it in action.

You're a great consumer advocate! When I read these posts about the marketing materials you've received, I always nod along. I wonder how many people out there feel the same way but don't say anything?

Thanks Deb. Especially for your Kindle review, which was especially helpful.

@George--Good Housekeeping has been around forever, too, but I thought their mailing a couple weeks ago was pretty dreadful. Good magazine, but that particular offer was lousy.

Yuppers, NG does it right. Near as I can remember they always have. It's why their still around and so popular. My daughter loves their stuff. The kids magazines, the regular mags, the videos. Makes me pretty happy, it does.

Well, true about the return address labels. Those aren't something I usually bother to shred, though. I figure I through random bits of junk mail and such out with my address on it, a few return address labels don't really worry me. I hadn't thought about the privacy issues, though ... I just liked that they sent something with the offer that you could use immediately, no obligation.

Cool. It's good to just be straight instead of misleading (or confusing). This sounds like they are doing everything right.

The only comment I have is about the return address labels, though. Some people actually hate those. They don't mail things often, and they don't want to just throw away things with their addresses on them due to privacy concerns. So these people hate the return address labels because those things are more things to shred. Personally I am ambivalent about them though.
