You know, I read somewhere once that the QWERTY keyboard was not, in fact, designed for speedy typing, but actually to slow typists DOWN because the old, manual typewriters, with the arm that would fling up to type on the page, would jam if you sent letters that were too close together, too quickly.

Of course, I don't know how TRUE that story is, but!

Yep, I misspell these all the time, and not because I don't know how to spell them. These words are not keyboard friendly! They're typo-words! I swear it!

Isn't it interesting, how there are just some words that "stick" no matter what you do?

Like Lillie I always find myself uncertain whenever I write accommodate. I had a client recently who spelled sense as s-e-n-c-e. I suppose when you consider that we spell essence that way rather than "essense" it can be confusing to some.

My bugbear is occasion—2 c's and 1 s or vice versa? Accommodate always make me stop and think as well. I have a client who always spells accessible as assessable, but she pronounces it that way also.
