Deb,
Everyone faces rejection, and writers probably more than our fair share. I posted one of my favorite quotes about rejection from author Barbara Kingsolver at http://lillieammann.com/blog/2008/01/08/rejection-keep-looking-for-the-right-address/

Lillie Ammann's last blog post..What I Learned From … Mashing It Up

...Paraphrasing Nietsche? "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger?" (grin)

Life is too short to be bitter! Be better, instead! (rallying cry for the masses)

I loved that post over at Copyblogger too and it's always interesting to read quotes from the past like that (hindsight being what it is -- 20/20). What's always stricken me as odd is that you have so many people who strive and inspire the masses and then you have these other people who are cynics and disbelievers. Ultimately, we each have to choose who we'll listen to. I personally think it's best to listen to your own heart ;)

Well said. Rejection sucks, but sometimes makes us stronger.

His purpose was definitely clear--I just used his post about assumptions as a springboard for my own about rejection. You've got to take inspiration where you find it (grin).
